If you’re attending a political event for the first time, you might be nervous about meeting a candidate, dealing with a rowdy audience, or a number of different things. Don’t worry- it’s totally normal, these events can get pretty crazy! To ease your nerves, we’ve put together a list of tips to stay safe, and what to know before the exciting occasion.
Tips for Attendees
Research the Candidate(s): Know their platform, values, and future plans. Following Twitter and Instagram accounts is a useful way of keeping up!
Come With Questions: You never know if you may get the chance to speak with a candidate, so have a least one question or conversation starter prepared. you could be speaking to the future leader of our country after all!
Be Alert: Amidst the excitement don't forget to remain aware of your surroundings. Report any suspicious behavior or concerns to the nearest authorities or security officer.
Know the Venue: Will it be indoors? Outside? How long will it last? Will they provide food and beverages? Take all of these into account when you're prepping. A long, hot day outside with minimal food and water could be a formula for disaster.

VIP Guests: major donors, celebrities, political figures
Media: journalists, reporters, photographers/paparazzi
Average citizens: often political events are open to the general public. You may see a variety of avid supporters to outspoken critics.Customize the look of your media by making it widescreen or small and easily align media inside your posts.
